LUCY

This painting began as a live paint at Basscoast Festival in BC, Canada. The artist refers to her as Phantom Lucy or Lucy in the Sky due to her ethereal nature. The use of white and pastel colours make her phantom-like, but the mix of warm tones and rendering of her face make her very much alive. Due to their elegant form contrasted by their potential toxicity, the artist chose foxglove as a secondary subject. The colour scheme in the painting signifies the supernatural, the powerful, and the feminine. Lucy calls forth all aspects of intuition, imagination and creativity.
